Physics for the Life Sciences I (PHYSICS 135) course notes. This course is part of a two-semester sequence that has been designed so that students succeed in learning and understanding how physics enables life and defines the boundaries of biodiversity. These notes will explore how the fundamentals of Newtonian mechanics, energy, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics provide us with insights into the mechanisms of life as well as provide a solid foundation for our later work in the life sciences.
